Our atelier
All our jewelry is handcrafted in a family-owned atelier in Porto, the historic center of Portuguese goldsmithing. Here, tradition, skill, and passion come together to bring each piece to life, making it the perfect partner for a brand that values quality, craftsmanship, and sustainability.
The atelier has long embraced responsible production, creating pieces that are both durable and sustainable. Around 95% of the metals they use come from recycled sources, and materials are carefully selected according to the highest ethical standards. Certified stones and pearls reflect their commitment to both the environment and the social impact of the jewelry industry.
History
The story of this jewelsmith spans more than 60 years. It began in the 1950s when José Martins Barbosa launched his own jewelry creations in Porto and sought inspiration abroad in Germany. His inventive spirit led him to develop new production techniques, including becoming the first national manufacturer to produce gold-plated pieces in series.
In 1980, three of José’s children took over the company, carrying forward his expertise and entrepreneurial vision. Today, the third generation, João and Tiago Barbosa, continue the family legacy with a contemporary vision, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques and global trends.
Every piece in our collection is handcrafted in this atelier, where generations of experience meet modern design. From meticulous attention to detail to ethical sourcing, each necklace, ring, and bracelet carries the story of true craftsmanship — infused with Southern European warmth, designed to be worn, cherished, and passed on.
